“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Steve Jobs
Certification by definition means, “to attest as being true or as represented as meeting a standard.” Over the twenty-four years of Timothy Shaw’s career he has distinguished himself by attaining two board certifications as a Clinical Certified Hemodialysis Technician and a Clinical Certified Hemodialysis Technician Advanced through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission. He was an inaugural member of the Clinical/Technical Examination Board for Nephrology Certification Commission from 2011 to 2015 and a member of the test committees from 2009 to 2015. Tim was a paid reviewer for the NME Core Curriculum Fifth Edition and he had a clinical narrative published in Nephrology News & Issues in March of 2016. At DTI Tim is able to combine his extensive years of experience and training in hemodialysis to teach a new generation of CHT’s. He loves what he does because he enjoys sharing and teaching students about dialysis and how to be great technicians.
Tim began his career in nephrology with Fresenius Medical Care, formerly BMA in Greeley Colorado in 1993. He moved to California in 2011 where he has worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Orange/Santa Ana as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician III (St. Joseph’s Hospital Clinical Ladder).
