This course was designed to provide the learnerwith basic knowledge about care and maintenance of patients with acute renal insufficiency and chronic kidney disease. The primary focus of the course is hemodialysis although all forms of renal replacement therapy are discussed.
The book guides the learner through the essentials of renal replacement therapy, with emphasis on regulatory and safety concerns associated with the provision of care for this patient population, clinically significant short and long-term manifestations of renal failure, and current management strategies.
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be awarded thirty (30) contact hours from this provider. These contact hours may be applied toward license renewal for any licensure board that accepts California Board of Registered Nursing contact hours.
